As the premier Association for women working in the construction industry, NAWIC meets employers' needs by: developing and promoting industry values and culture; offering exposure to new skills and technology updates; promoting professional certifications, coaching and mentoring; generating publicity through community service projects; building a strong industry by promoting NEF K-12 programs to the future work force.
Networking
The networking opportunities NAWIC provides are endless. Members are encouraged to take advantage of monthly membership meetings where guest speakers serve to educate attendees about the changing climate in construction. Regional and National Conferences give members opportunities to meet and learn from other women in construction. Networking in NAWIC has provided members with new jobs, new careers and life-long friendships.
Your NAWIC membership will include a subscription to the Association's award-winning bimonthly magazine, NAWIC Today. For more than 30 years, NAWIC Today has showcased the efforts, causes and issues of its members and the construction industry. Each Spring, the 8 regions of NAWIC hold Forums where members attend seminars and network with other members from their geographic areas. The Northeast Region Spring Forum will be in Annapolis, MD April 11th - 13th, 2024 at the Graduate Hotel.
On a larger scale, each August NAWIC offers one of the best buys in construction through its Annual Conference. Members attend educational seminars, meet inspirational speakers, and develop skills through workshops that recharge careers. Annual Conferences are set against the backdrop of exciting locations such as Atlanta, Reno, Anchorage, Nashville, New York City and most recently Portland, Oregon. The Annual Conference 2024 will bring us to Houston, Texas.
Industry Education Opportunities
NAWIC's commitment to education and skilled training can be seen in a variety of areas. Since 1972, NAWIC's Education Foundation (NEF) has offered creative and educational programs for students from grade school and high school to adult certification programs.

The Foundation's award-winning Block-Kids, Create-Build-Design and the Design Drafting competitive programs introduce students to careers and opportunities in construction.
NEF's Adult Certification programs include: Construction Bookkeeping Technician (CBT), Construction Document Specialist (CDS), Construction Industry Specialist (CIS), Construction Industry Technician (CIT), and Estimating and Scheduling Practitioner (ESP). All are available as on-line courses, too!
Scholarship Opportunities through NAWIC's Founders' Scholarship Fund (NFSF)
