Donna Sovie’s career began at the age of 19 as a receptionist and quickly moved to accounts payable. From there she worked her way up the accounting chain while receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Upon completing her Master’s degree, Donna became a Controller at the construction company she worked for. Although she had climbed to the top of the accounting ranks, she knew something was missing. In January 2020, Donna founded Check & Balance Business Solutions. Today, Donna’s mission is to help businesses continue to be profitable and remain compliant while allowing owners to focus on growing and doting on their passions.
Donna joined NAWIC in 2021 to meet other women in construction, expand her network, and be able to be a part of an organization that promotes and cultivates bringing more women into the construction industry.
Donna lives in Derry, NH and loves the outdoors, camping, hiking, traveling, and attending live concerts.
